Coast Redwood , world's tallest tree species; native range reaches the southern Oregon coast in Curry County. Thrives in coastal fog belt where summer fog supplies moisture.
Full sun to part shade suits this species. Plant in moist, deep, well-drained, acidic soil. Hardy USDA Zone 7 to 9. Inland sites need supplemental water. Provide ample room; avoid compacted soils over the root zone. Generally trouble-free in coastal sites.
This species is native to the Pacific Northwest and contributes ecologically as a wildlife host on the right site.
