Vine Maple , keystone PNW native understory maple, classic Oregon woodland species. Brilliant scarlet-orange fall color, graceful arching multi-stem habit, and high ecological value.
Part shade to part sun suits this species. Plant in humus-rich, well-drained, acid to neutral soil. Hardy USDA Zone 4 to 9. Generally trouble-free in PNW gardens; minimal pruning. Tolerates more sun with consistent moisture.
This species is native to the Pacific Northwest and contributes ecologically as a wildlife host on the right site.
