Refund policy

Live plants are different from most retail products. This policy explains what we can and cannot do if a plant or order does not work out. The core of this policy has served us well at the nursery for years, and applies to both in-person and online purchases.

The basics

Returned items must come back to us in their original pot or with their original tag. A receipt or known date of purchase must be provided so we can find the transaction.

If there is no receipt or known transaction date, we cannot offer a refund or store credit.

Returns within 1 week of purchase

Full cash or credit refund.

The original payment card must be provided to receive a credit or debit card refund.

Returns more than 1 week after purchase

50% of the item's retail price as store credit. Store credit can be used right away or loaded onto a gift card for later.

Discounted and close-out plants

Plants purchased from any of our discounted plant sections, with discount stickers, or with "close out" stickers are not eligible for returns or credits. Thanks for giving them a chance!

Online orders and shipping damage

If your order is shipped or delivered by us and a plant or product is damaged in transit, please:

  • notify us within 48 hours of delivery;
  • keep all packaging and the plant itself;
  • send photos of the box and the damage.

We will arrange a replacement, store credit, or refund depending on availability and the nature of the damage.

Non-returnable items

  • gift cards;
  • custom or special-order plants;
  • discounted, clearance, or close-out plants (see above);
  • plants held beyond our Hold Policy timeframes.

Plants after you take them home

Once a plant leaves the nursery, its survival depends on site, soil, water, climate, pests, and establishment care. We cannot guarantee that a plant will survive after it leaves our care. If a plant is struggling, please stop in, call, or text us. We are always happy to talk through what is happening and give honest advice.

Bring the plant back to the nursery, or contact us:

Please include your receipt or order number, a short description of the issue, and photos if possible. We will respond within 2 business days.
