About This Plant
Magnolia grandiflora 'D.D. Blanchard' (Southern Magnolia) is a Southern Magnolia, a Southeastern North America (NOT OR native) ornamental cultivar 'D.D. Blanchard'.
Evergreen broadleaf tree with large, fragrant cream-white summer flowers and glossy leaves backed in copper. Long-lived (80+ yr). 'Little Gem' and 'D.D. Blanchard' are PNW-suited cultivars.
Plant in full sun to part shade, in moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. Hardy USDA Zone 6 to 10. Long-lived. Generally deer-resistant once established.
