Collection: Salvias & Sages

Few plants give back as generously as the salvias. A single afternoon by a clump of Salvia clevelandii or a hummingbird sage in full bloom is enough to convert anyone to the genus. They are tough, drought-tolerant, deer-resistant by and large, and they keep pollinators fed from spring well into autumn.

This collection brings together every salvia and sage in our living catalog, from culinary kitchen-garden classics like common sage and rosemary to ornamental show-stoppers like Hummingbird Falls and the velvety mounds of Cleveland sage. Most are happy in full sun and lean, well-drained soil. Many will shrug off coastal wind and summer drought once their roots are down.

If you're planning a pollinator border, a Mediterranean dry garden, or a habitat planting along a hot south-facing wall, this is a good place to start. We re-pot and re-shape the inventory regularly, so check back when you don't see what you're looking for, or use our wishlist form and we'll let you know when it arrives.
