About This Plant

Yucca Blue Sentry is valued for its garden character and seasonal interest in PNW landscapes.

Yuccas are bold sculptural evergreens with sword-shaped leaves and spectacular tall white flower spikes in summer. Excellent drought-tolerant accent shrubs for sunny, well-drained sites.

Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained, lean, sandy soil. Hardy USDA Zone 4 to 10. Drought-tolerant once established; resents wet feet. Sharp leaf tips , site away from foot traffic. Generally trouble-free.

For a Pacific Northwest native shrub of similar character, consider Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape, Oregon state flower), Philadelphus lewisii (Mock Orange), or Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray) , all support native pollinators and birds.
