Coast Rosemary (Westringia) , Australian evergreen with rosemary-like foliage and small white or lavender flowers. Excellent salt-tolerant coastal shrub for sunny, well-drained sites.

Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained soil. Hardy USDA Zone 8 to 11. Marginally hardy in zone 8 PNW. Drought-tolerant; resents wet feet.

For a Pacific Northwest native shrub of similar character, consider Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape, Oregon state flower), Philadelphus lewisii (Mock Orange), or Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray) , all support native pollinators and birds.
