About This Plant
Tillandsia 'Victoriana' is a cultivated hybrid with a graceful, arching form. Long, slender leaves curl and recurve outward from a central rosette, giving the plant a sculptural presence that looks as much like a piece of art as a living organism. The silvery-green foliage is covered in fine trichomes, the specialized scales that allow air plants to absorb water and nutrients directly from the atmosphere. Like all Tillandsias, it requires no soil and anchors naturally to whatever surface it rests on.
Care is straightforward once you understand the routine. Soak the plant in room-temperature water for 20 to 30 minutes once a week, then shake off excess moisture and allow it to dry fully within a few hours. Good air circulation is essential. Set it upside down briefly after watering if water tends to pool at the base of the leaves. Place it in bright indirect light, near a window that doesn't receive direct afternoon sun.
Avoid copper wire, which is toxic to Tillandsias.
