Care Notes

Plant in moist to wet soil; tolerates seasonal flooding. Aggressively rhizomatous; install a root barrier or site deliberately where spreading is welcome, such as rain gardens, streambanks, or wet bioswales. Coppice every few years to rejuvenate. Cut back spent flower spikes in late fall.
