About This Plant
Anne is one of the best yellow raspberries ever selected, and it earns that reputation through flavor above everything else. The berries have an apricot-honeyed sweetness that red raspberries don't quite replicate, with hints of vanilla and a perfume that intensifies as they ripen to a rich golden yellow. They're large, well-shaped, and firm enough to hold together for fresh eating, though they're equally good in jam or folded into a summer dessert where their color makes a striking contrast.
As an everbearing type, Anne fruits on the tips of first-year primocanes in late summer through fall, with a smaller second crop the following spring on those same canes. In Oregon's coastal climate, where cool summers extend the growing season well into autumn, the fall flush can be the most productive and flavorful of the year. The berries develop especially good sweetness in the gradual cool-down of October.
Anne is self-fertile, so a single plant will produce.
