Care Notes

Plant in moist to wet, humus-rich soil; tolerates seasonal flooding. Site in bounded beds or against a barrier to contain rhizomatous spread. Prune out spent second-year canes at the base each winter. Bears browse heavily; protect new plantings if bears are present.
