Care Notes

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil (pH 4.5-6.0). Set the crown slightly high; never bury the root ball. Mulch with 2-3 inches of acidic mulch and keep it away from the stem. Water consistently; do not let roots dry out. Watch for root weevil and Phytophthora root rot in heavy or wet soils.
