About This Plant

Easter Egg Blend is a mix of globe radish varieties selected for their rainbow of exterior colors: red, white, rose pink, purple, and bi-color combinations. Sown together, they mature over a slightly staggered window and produce a harvest basket that looks as good on the counter as it tastes in a salad. The flesh inside is consistently white, crisp, and mildly peppery, with that satisfying snap that fresh spring radishes are known for.

Radishes are one of the fastest crops in the kitchen garden, typically ready to harvest in 25 to 30 days from seeding. They prefer cool weather and are perfectly suited to Pacific Northwest spring and fall seasons when temperatures stay moderate. Direct sow into prepared garden beds or deep containers, thin to about two inches apart, keep evenly moist, and harvest as soon as roots reach size to prevent pithy texture from setting in.

This blend is especially well-suited for gardening with kids because the quick turnaround from seed to harvest holds attention, and pulling up a handful of multicolored radishes is genuinely exciting. It also succession-plants beautifully when sown every two to three weeks for an extended harvest window through the cooler months.
