About This Plant
Quercus rubra (Northern Red Oa), 'Northern Red Oa' is valued in the landscape for character, form, and seasonal interest.
Northern Red Oak , fast-growing eastern N American native shade tree with brilliant red-russet fall color and distinctive rounded lobed leaves.
Full sun suits this species. Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. Hardy USDA Zone 4 to 8. Watch for oak wilt in some regions and gypsy moth defoliation. Generally adaptable.
