About This Plant
Quercus garryana (Oregon White Oak), 'Oregon White Oak' is valued in the landscape for character, form, and seasonal interest.
Oregon White Oak (Garry Oak) , keystone PNW native of oak savannas; long-lived (300+ yr), cornerstone of one of the most threatened ecosystems in the region. Provides extraordinary wildlife habitat.
Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained; tolerates seasonal drought soil. Hardy USDA Zone 6 to 9. Slow-growing, very long-lived. Avoid summer irrigation once established (mature oaks are adapted to summer-dry conditions). Site with room, eventual 50 to 75 ft.
This species is native to the Pacific Northwest and contributes ecologically as a wildlife host on the right site.
