About This Plant
Wave Easy Blue is a spreading petunia in the beloved Easy Wave series, selected for its self-cleaning habit and vigorous, ground-covering spread. The flowers are a soft, clear blue-violet, one of the cooler tones in the petunia spectrum and a useful complement to warm yellows, hot pinks, and deep purples in mixed plantings. Easy Wave varieties branch freely and spread fifteen to twenty-four inches or more across the season, mounding slightly in the center and trailing outward in all directions to create a full, generous display.
What sets the Easy Wave series apart from older spreading petunias is the minimal maintenance requirement. The plants drop spent flowers on their own rather than holding them, which keeps the display looking fresh without constant deadheading. They are also notably rain-tolerant, bouncing back after the wet spells that are part of Oregon coast spring gardening without the bruised, tattered look that less robust petunias show after a hard rain.
Plant in full sun for the strongest flower production, in well-drained soil or containers with good drainage.
