About This Plant
Peperomia albovittata 'Peacock,' often sold under the name Piccolo Banda, is one of the most visually striking houseplants in the Peperomia family. The broad, slightly quilted leaves are a soft silver-green striped with dark green to deep purple veining that runs in parallel lines from stem to tip, creating a pattern that genuinely earns the peacock comparison. The stems carry a reddish-pink blush that adds another layer of color.
Native to Ecuadorean rainforests, 'Peacock' grows as an epiphyte in the wild, which explains its preference for loose, fast-draining soil and its ability to handle lower humidity than tropical plants typically require. Bright indirect light keeps the leaf patterning most vibrant.
If you love foliage plants with real personality, 'Peacock' is one of the most decorative peperomias you can own.
