Opuntia nopales (Prickly Pear), 'Prickly Pear', is valued in PNW gardens for its character and seasonal interest.

A hardy outdoor succulent , sedums, sempervivums, and other rosette and mat-forming species adapted to PNW gardens.

Full sun suits this plant. Plant in well-drained, lean, sandy soil. Hardy USDA Zone 5 to 10. Sharp drainage essential. Drought-tolerant once established. Most tolerate cold but resent wet winter feet.
