Care Notes

Plant in moist to wet soil. Tolerates seasonal flooding and suits streambanks and rain garden edges. Remove suckers to maintain a single-stem tree form, or allow to develop as a multi-stem thicket. Prune in late winter to shape and remove crossing branches. Watch for apple scab and fire blight in wet seasons.
