Care Notes

Plant in acidic to neutral, well-drained soil with some organic matter. Needs a few hours of direct sun daily for best performance, but avoid hot afternoon exposure. Drought-tolerant once established. Shelter from direct winter wind and salt blast on the coast to prevent leaf scorch. Spreads by suckers to form a colony; prune suckers to contain spread. Watch for aphids, scale, whiteflies, and leaf rust, especially on stressed plants.
