About This Plant
Magnolia stellata 'Royal Star' (Star Magnolia) is a Star Magnolia, a Japan ornamental cultivar 'Royal Star'.
Compact shrub-tree (10 to 15 ft) with fragrant strappy white-to-pink flowers in early spring before leaves. Shelter from late frost; site east-facing to delay bloom.
Plant in full sun to part shade, in humus-rich, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Hardy USDA Zone 4 to 8. Long-lived. Generally deer-resistant once established.
