About This Plant

Loropetalum 'Dwarf White' (Fringe Flower), 'Dwarf White', is valued for its garden character and seasonal interest in PNW landscapes.

Chinese Fringe Flower (Loropetalum chinense) , evergreen shrub with witch-hazel-like fringed pink or white flowers in spring and burgundy or green foliage. Many compact cultivars in the 'Plum' / 'Purple Diamond' series.

Full sun to part shade suits this species. Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Hardy USDA Zone 7 to 10. Provide acidic soil for best leaf color. Watch for chlorosis on alkaline soils. Generally trouble-free in mild PNW gardens.

For a Pacific Northwest native shrub of similar character, consider Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape, Oregon state flower), Philadelphus lewisii (Mock Orange), or Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray) , all support native pollinators and birds.
