About This Plant
English Lavender is the cold-hardiest and most classic lavender species, native to mountainous southern Europe and valued for centuries for its aromatic silver-gray foliage, dense blue-purple flower spikes, and exceptional pollinator support. Bees, butterflies, and occasional hummingbirds work the blooms from early summer onward. Grows twelve to twenty-four inches tall and eighteen to thirty inches wide depending on selection. Zone 5 to 9 hardy, drought tolerant once established, and strongly deer-resistant. The essential everyday lavender for herb gardens, borders, cottage plantings, and low hedges.
