About This Plant
Lavandula allardii 'Meerlo' (Allard's Lavender), 'Meerlo', is valued for seasonal interest and the role it plays in PNW garden borders.
Lavender , Mediterranean evergreen with intensely fragrant gray-silver foliage and purple, blue, white, or pink flower spikes that bees and butterflies love.
Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained, lean, alkaline soil. Hardy USDA Zone 5 to 9. Shear lightly after flowering to keep compact. Drought-tolerant; resents wet feet and heavy soils.
For a Pacific Northwest native perennial of similar character, consider Aquilegia formosa (Western Red Columbine), Tellima grandiflora (Fringecups), or Dicentra formosa (Pacific Bleeding Heart) , all support native pollinators.
