Lactuca sativa 'Rhapsody' (Butterhead Lettuce Seeds)

Rhapsody is a premium butterhead lettuce variety prized for forming compact, well-blanched heads with soft, buttery leaves and a mild, sweet flavor that makes it one of the finest lettuces for fresh eating. The outer leaves are smooth and a rich medium green, while the inner heart blanches to a tender, creamy pale yellow. It is the kind of lettuce that makes you want to eat a salad every single day.

Butterheads are among the most rewarding lettuces for home gardeners because they look beautiful in the garden, harvest cleanly as whole heads, and have a texture and flavor that store-bought lettuce rarely matches. Rhapsody is particularly appreciated for its reliability in forming solid, attractive heads even under variable conditions.

Direct sow or transplant into rich, evenly moist soil in spring or late summer for a fall crop. Successive plantings every two to three weeks keep a steady supply coming.
