About This Plant

Zebra plant 'Savanna' is a compact, architectural succulent that earns its name from the bold white tubercles banding its deep green leaves. A selection of Haworthiopsis attenuata, this South African native grows in a tight rosette that slowly offsets over time. It is among the most forgiving of succulents, tolerating lower light conditions far better than most cacti or aloes.

Indoors, 'Savanna' thrives in a bright window with indirect light, though it adapts reasonably well to moderate indoor light. Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Overwatering is the primary threat to haworthiopsis. In summer, a little dilute cactus fertilizer applied once monthly supports healthy growth.

This plant stays small, topping out around 4 to 6 inches, ideal for desk gardens and windowsills. It offsets readily and pups can be separated and potted individually. Note that Haworthiopsis attenuata is considered mildly toxic to cats and dogs, so keep it out of reach.
