About This Plant

Garden Valley Garden and Veg Mix with Bio Amendment is a Rexius product made in Eugene, Oregon, blended specifically for vegetable and edible gardens. The formula combines compost, sphagnum peat moss, wood biochar, fish bone meal, feather meal, blood meal, oyster shell, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, basalt rock dust, and limestone for pH adjustment. The biochar improves moisture and nutrient retention over multiple growing seasons. The combination of fish bone meal, blood meal, and feather meal provides a range of nitrogen release rates, supporting both quick green growth and longer-term feeding.

Work this mix into existing garden beds before planting vegetables, or use it as the primary fill for a new raised bed dedicated to edibles. For in-ground beds, blend it with your existing soil at roughly one part mix to two parts native soil. For dedicated raised beds, fill the bed completely and plant directly.

We carry this product because it comes from Rexius, an Eugene-based company that has been making soil products for the Pacific Northwest for decades. If you are growing vegetables on the Oregon coast, where soils can be heavy and slow to drain, this kind of amendment-forward mix helps warm up and loosen the ground before your summer crops go in.
