About This Plant

Garden Valley Top Soil is a ready-to-use outdoor soil made by Rexius in Eugene, Oregon from all-natural and organic ingredients. The formula includes organic humus, compost, river loam, sand, and barnyard manures, blended with natural fertilizer amendments including fish bone meal, feather meal, blood meal, oyster shell, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, and limestone for pH adjustment. This gives it more nutritional value than most commodity topsoils, which typically contain no amendments at all. The result is a genuine field-blend soil with natural structure and modest built-in fertility.

Garden Valley Top Soil is intended for outdoor use as a bulk fill or grade-leveling material, not as a potting mix or planting medium for containers. Use it to fill low spots in the lawn, level garden areas, build up raised beds where you need substantial volume, or establish new planting areas from scratch. For high-fertility applications like vegetable gardens, blend it with compost to increase organic matter and drainage. For basic landscaping, grading, and fill purposes it works on its own. It is not suited for container growing, where drainage and aeration requirements are higher than in-ground applications.

Rexius produces Garden Valley Top Soil at their Eugene facility, which has supplied nurseries and landscapers throughout the Willamette Valley and Oregon coast for many years. It is a practical, locally made product for projects where you need real soil volume.
