About This Plant

G&B Organics Palm, Citrus and Cactus Soil is a one-cubic-foot planting mix from Kellogg Garden Organics, formulated for the special drainage and nutrition needs of palms, citrus trees, larger cacti, and succulents. It is built from recycled forest products, pumice, sand, and bark fines for structure and drainage, with composted and dehydrated chicken manure, hydrolyzed feather meal, worm castings, kelp meal, and bat guano providing slow-release organic nutrition. Dolomite and oyster shell limes balance the pH to a range of 6.0 to 7.3. The mix is OMRI Listed and every ingredient is verified compliant for organic use.

Use it as a fill mix when planting palms, dwarf citrus, or larger cactus in containers, or blend it into native soil at the planting zone for in-ground specimens. One bag is enough to repot two to three one-gallon plants or one five-gallon plant. Always choose containers with drainage holes and avoid overwatering once plants are established. Citrus and palms in containers benefit from repotting every two to three years as roots fill the pot.

This is the right choice when you need more volume than a small specialty cactus mix provides. If you are planting a Meyer lemon in a half-barrel container or moving a mature palm into a larger pot, this mix gives you the quantity and the right soil structure in one bag.
