About This Plant
Fuchsia 'Dark Eyes' is a standout in the fuchsia world, producing large double flowers with upswept deep red sepals surrounding a full, lush corolla in rich violet-blue. The contrast between the red and the deep violet is dramatic and unmistakably fuchsia, catching attention from across a garden. Plants grow as an upright, bushy shrub to around two feet tall and bloom generously from early summer until frost, attracting hummingbirds and bees.
Like most fuchsias, 'Dark Eyes' thrives in the cool, moist summers of the Oregon coast, where it can achieve a lushness that's hard to replicate in hotter, drier climates. Partial shade suits it well.
Use 'Dark Eyes' as an upright focal point in a large container, as a specimen in a sheltered border, or pair it with trailing varieties in a mixed planting.
