About This Plant

Fuchsia Bellinto is valued in PNW gardens for its character and seasonal interest.

Hardy Fuchsias have pendulous tubular flowers in pink, red, or purple , hummingbird favorites. Some species (F. magellanica and hybrids) are hardy in PNW; tropical fuchsias are summer container plants.

Part shade suits this species. Plant in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. Hardy USDA Zone 7 to 11. Mulch the crown for winter protection. Hummingbird-attractive.

For a Pacific Northwest native plant of similar character, consider Aquilegia formosa (Western Red Columbine), Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray), or Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape) , all support native pollinators and birds.
