Omeo Gum , exceptionally hardy eucalyptus with bold rounded juvenile foliage; suitable for southern Oregon gardens.
Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained soil. Hardy USDA Zone 7 to 10. Among the hardiest eucalyptus; tolerates short freezes. Avoid wet feet.
For a Pacific Northwest native tree of similar character, consider Acer macrophyllum (Bigleaf Maple) for canopy, Cornus nuttallii (Pacific Dogwood) for spring bloom, or Arbutus menziesii (Pacific Madrone) for evergreen sculpture and red bark.
