About This Plant
Dracaena fragrans 'Limelight' earns its name from the moment you see it: the long, arching leaves glow in a vivid chartreuse that brightens even a dim corner and brings a jolt of life to any room. Native to tropical Africa, this slow-growing dragon tree builds a sturdy cane-like trunk over time, eventually reaching five to seven feet indoors, but stays compact and manageable for years in a pot.
One of the more forgiving houseplants you can own, 'Limelight' tolerates lower light and inconsistent watering far better than most tropical foliage plants. The lime-green intensity actually deepens in moderate light rather than bright sun, so it's one of those rare plants that rewards a shadier spot. Water thoroughly when the top third of the soil has dried out.
Keep it away from curious pets, as dracaena is toxic to cats and dogs. Otherwise, this is a zero-fuss statement plant that earns genuine admiration from visitors.
