About This Plant
Correa Strawberries and Cream (A), 'A', is valued for its garden character and seasonal interest in PNW landscapes.
Australian Fuchsias (Correa) are evergreens with pendulous tubular flowers in red, pink, or cream from fall through spring. Hummingbird favorites; outstanding sheltered coastal shrubs.
Full sun to part sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained soil. Hardy USDA Zone 8 to 10. Marginally hardy in zone 8 PNW; site in warmest exposure. Drought-tolerant once established.
For a Pacific Northwest native shrub of similar character, consider Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape, Oregon state flower), Philadelphus lewisii (Mock Orange), or Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray) , all support native pollinators and birds.
