About This Plant
Cornus kousa 'Blue Ray' (Dogwood / white) is a Korean / Japanese Dogwood, a East Asia (Japan, Korea, China) ornamental cultivar 'Blue Ray'.
Showy white-bracted blooms in late spring (after leaves), strawberry-like red fruits in fall, mottled exfoliating bark. More disease-resistant than Cornus florida; LESS susceptible to dogwood anthracnose.
Plant in part shade to full sun, in humus-rich, well-drained, slightly acidic; consistent moisture in summer soil. Hardy USDA Zone 5 to 8. Long-lived. Generally deer-resistant once established.
