About This Plant

Boulevard Pompeii brings soft, romantic color to small spaces with its large pastel pink blooms, each petal traced with a deeper pink midrib and finished with creamy white anthers. This compact clematis from Raymond Evison's Boulevard series stays at roughly 3-4 feet, making it well-suited for containers, patio planters, hanging baskets, or small trellised spots. The flowers appear continuously from June through November in mild climates.

Pompeii is rated for USDA zones 4-9, hardy enough for the Oregon coast and well beyond. It tolerates full sun to part shade. Plant it in a large container with a small obelisk or trellis, or let it scramble through a shrub rose.

Boulevard Pompeii is a Group 3 clematis. Cut all stems back hard to about 6 inches from the ground in late winter or early spring. Wear gloves when handling, as clematis sap can irritate skin.
