Care Notes

Full sun to part shade. Moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Hardy Zone 5 to 7. Port Orford Cedar (Lawson Cypress). Native to a narrow band of SW Oregon and N California. WATCHPOINT: highly susceptible to Phytophthora lateralis root disease in landscape plantings; avoid wet feet and movement of soil from infected sites. Many ornamental cultivars (golden, weeping, blue). Deer-resistant.
