About This Plant
Miss Oklahoma is a canna lily that commands attention in any planting. Growing 5 to 6 feet tall, this is one of the larger canna varieties available, and the scale contributes to its tropical, almost theatrical presence in the summer garden. The flowers are a true coral-pink, a color that is genuinely uncommon in the canna world. Hummingbirds and butterflies make regular appearances throughout the season.
The light green foliage is another distinguishing feature. Many cannas carry deep burgundy or bronze leaves that can feel heavy and dark. Miss Oklahoma's clean green paddle-shaped leaves give the whole plant a lighter, more airy quality.
Cannas are tender perennials that thrive in the warm summer months of the Oregon coast. In mild coastal zones, rhizomes may overwinter in the ground with a protective mulch layer.
