Care Notes

Plant bulbs 4-6 in deep in fall in humus-rich, neutral to slightly acid soil. Requires wet meadow conditions in spring; tolerates summer drought once dormant. Goes fully summer-dormant after seed set. WARNING: Camas bulbs resemble toxic Death Camas (Toxicoscordion venenosum) when not in flower; never harvest wild bulbs without expert identification.
