About This Plant

Buddleia 'Buzz Ivory' (Butterfly Bush), 'Buzz Ivory', is valued for its garden character and seasonal interest in PNW landscapes.

Butterfly Bush (Buddleia / Buddleja) is famous for fragrant lilac-shaped panicles that attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees in summer. Fast-growing, easy, and reliable.

Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained soil. Hardy USDA Zone 5 to 9. INVASIVE: B. davidii is regulated as a noxious weed in Oregon , sterile cultivars (Lo & Behold series, 'Asian Moon', etc.) are recommended for sale and planting. Cut back hard in late winter for vigorous flowering on new wood.

For a Pacific Northwest native shrub of similar character, consider Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape, Oregon state flower), Philadelphus lewisii (Mock Orange), or Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray) , all support native pollinators and birds.
