About This Plant
Brasco Violet is a compact, free-flowering daisy that delivers months of small, vivid violet-purple blooms above feathery, finely cut green foliage. Each flower is a classic daisy form with a yellow center and ray petals in a rich blue-violet tone that photographs beautifully and works well as a companion to plants in yellow, white, or soft pink. The plant stays low and tidy, typically reaching 8 to 12 inches tall, and it spreads outward in a soft mound that fills containers and borders with a frothy, lacy texture.
This annual is a strong performer in containers, window boxes, and hanging baskets, where its compact habit means it doesn't crowd out its neighbors. It's also useful as a front-of-border annual that provides a long season of color from spring through fall. In the mild temperatures of the Oregon coast, it tends to bloom even more reliably than in hotter summer climates, since brachyscome prefers cooler conditions and doesn't appreciate the heat stress that slows it down in many regions.
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil and regular moisture. Deadheading prolongs the bloom display, though the plant is self-cleaning enough to look good with minimal intervention.
