Care Notes

Moist, well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil (pH 4.5 to 6.0). Plant high; surface roots resent burial. Mulch lightly with pine fines or fir bark to keep roots cool. Watch for root weevil notching, lacebug (especially in too-sunny sites), and Phytophthora root rot in poorly drained spots.
