About This Plant

Aster Assorted is valued for seasonal interest and the role it plays in PNW garden borders.

Asters are essential late-summer and fall pollinator perennials with daisy-like flowers in blue, purple, pink, or white. Important monarch butterfly forage.

Full sun to part shade suits this species. Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Hardy USDA Zone 3 to 8. Pinch tips in early summer for compact growth. Watch for powdery mildew.

For a Pacific Northwest native perennial of similar character, consider Aquilegia formosa (Western Red Columbine), Tellima grandiflora (Fringecups), or Dicentra formosa (Pacific Bleeding Heart) , all support native pollinators.
