About This Plant
Anemone coronaria 'Marianne Red' (Windflower), 'Marianne Red', is valued for seasonal interest and the role it plays in PNW garden borders.
Anemones range from spring-blooming wildflowers (A. nemorosa) to fall-blooming Japanese Anemones (A. hybrida). Graceful saucer flowers in white, pink, or purple.
Part shade to full sun suits this species. Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Hardy USDA Zone 4 to 8. Spreads by rhizome. Provide consistent moisture for fall-blooming types.
