Watch for Mimosa wilt (Fusarium oxysporum), which has shortened tree life nationally.

Plant in full sun, in adaptable; tolerates poor + dry sites soil. Hardy USDA Zone 6 to 9. Short-lived (10 to 30 yr). Generally deer-resistant once established.

If you'd like a Pacific Northwest native tree with similar grace, consider Cornus nuttallii (Pacific Dogwood), Acer circinatum (Vine Maple), Arbutus menziesii (Pacific Madrone), or Amelanchier alnifolia (Saskatoon).
