About This Plant

Agapanthus africanus 'Peter Pan' (Lily of the Nile), 'Peter Pan', is valued for seasonal interest and the role it plays in PNW garden borders.

Lily of the Nile. Strap-leaved perennial with blue or white flower umbels. Hardier modern cultivars survive PNW winters.

Full sun to part shade suits this species. Plant in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. Hardy USDA Zone 6 to 11. Generally trouble-free. Divide every few years.

For a Pacific Northwest native perennial of similar character, consider Aquilegia formosa (Western Red Columbine), Tellima grandiflora (Fringecups), or Dicentra formosa (Pacific Bleeding Heart) , all support native pollinators.
