Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, slightly acidic soil with a strong trellis or pergola to support vigorous growth. For fruit production, plant one male pollinator per 6-8 female vines; 'Issai' is self-fertile but yields more with a pollinator. Protect roots and lower stems from cat chewing, as the plant contains compounds cats find attractive. Protect young vines from deer browse.
