About This Plant
Achillea ptarmica 'Marshmallow' (Sneezewort), 'Marshmallow', is valued for seasonal interest and the role it plays in PNW garden borders.
Yarrows (Achillea) are tough prairie perennials with feathery aromatic foliage and flat-topped flower clusters in yellow, white, pink, red, or orange.
Full sun suits this species. Plant in well-drained soil. Hardy USDA Zone 3 to 9. Drought-tolerant once established. Self-sows in happy sites.
For a Pacific Northwest native perennial of similar character, consider Aquilegia formosa (Western Red Columbine), Tellima grandiflora (Fringecups), or Dicentra formosa (Pacific Bleeding Heart) , all support native pollinators.
