Collection: Olive Trees

An olive tree in the right spot is one of the most enduring choices a gardener can make. The silver-green canopy reads beautifully against weathered wood, stucco, and stone, and the right cultivar will live and yield for a hundred years or more.

Our olive collection focuses on cultivars that handle the Pacific Northwest's wet winters with grace. We carry productive fruiting olives like Arbosana and Koroneiki for table or oil pressing, alongside the popular fruitless dwarf Little Ollie for landscape use where you want the look without the harvest. Several heritage varieties pass through the nursery seasonally.

Olives want full sun and excellent drainage. They thrive against a south wall, on a sunny slope, or in a generous pot if you can shelter them through deep cold snaps. With patience and a sharp pair of pruners, they become sculpture.
