seacoast-potting-soil
SeaCoast Potting Soil

SeaCoast Enlivened Potting Soil is made by SeaCoast Compost in Charleston, on the southern Oregon coast, about 30 miles north of Langlois. The base of the mix is SeaCoast's own biodynamic compost, which is aged two full years and built from wild-caught seafood by-products (fish, crab, and shrimp), organic cow manure, and red alder from local timber operations. To that compost foundation, the potting soil adds coconut coir, perlite, langbeinite (a naturally mined mineral providing potassium, magnesium, and sulfur), kelp meal, and biochar. The result is a biologically active growing medium with a notably different character from peat-based mixes.

Use it for seed starting, transplanting into containers, or potting up houseplants and outdoor pots. The kelp meal and langbeinite provide natural, slow-releasing nutrition, while the biochar supports microbial diversity and moisture retention over time. Work it into beds to improve existing soil structure, or use straight in containers as an all-purpose growing medium.

We are glad to carry a product made this close to home. SeaCoast's sourcing story, coastal ingredients, and thoughtful biodynamic process reflect the same values that guide how we grow at Dragonfly.
